Makeup Revolution Light & Shade palette costs £8 and is available on Tam Beauty's website. It is heavily inspired by Kat Von D's Shade & Light palette which is available in the UK at Debenhams, priced at £37.

The idea is that you can sculpt and contour your face and eyes using these variations of highlight and shading tones. Rather than a pop of dazzling colour, these matte tones work together to add natural-looking depth and dimension to the face.
The first third of the palette features a larger pan of a pale colour at the top, two shades of brown and another creamy, pale shade. The powders feel soft and smooth to the touch, and are richly pigmented as you can see.
When blended out, the top pale shade sheers away to almost nothing on my skin tone. I use this to set cream products on my face or as an eyeshadow base. The two matte browns are lovely, soft colours and work beautifully as soft eyeliner when applied to the lashline. The final lighter shade makes a great, matte highlight for the brow bone or inner eye corner. The shadows are similar to the quality of other Makeup Revolution palettes - soft and smooth with a tendency towards being powdery. I find the texture and pigmentation to be great for the drugstore price, and you can certainly achieve a look very close to that created with more expensive shadows.
The brown shade blends very well with the other browns in the palette to create gradient and depth on the eyes. The black can be built up to become extremely dark and dramatic.
The final section of this palette features a beautiful, warm, rusty shade which makes this more than a simple selection of browns and creams.
Overall, I think this is a great drugstore eyeshadow selection. You can use these mattes alone to create everyday definition to your eyes, or as a base for shimmery or brighter shades.
These powders are all pigmented, with good staying power. The neutral shades mean that even an eyeshadow novice like me can't go wrong using the paler shades under the brow and darker shades around the eye. And more experienced make up artists can create beautiful, multi-dimensional looks with these lovely, soft shadows.
